Limited Contact Football - 1st/2nd Grades
What is Youth Football?
Limited Contact Football is designed to teach players the fundamentals of tackle football while significantly reducing full-speed collisions. This format allows athletes to develop proper techniques, game knowledge, and confidence in a safer environment.
In limited contact football, players still learn essential skills such as blocking, tackling form, positioning, and game strategy. However, drills and gameplay are structured to limit full-contact situations, focusing instead on controlled contact and proper technique.
This approach helps young athletes:
- Learn the fundamentals of football safely
- Build confidence and football IQ
- Develop proper tackling and blocking techniques
- Reduce the number of high-impact collisions
Limited contact football serves as a bridge between flag football and traditional tackle football, preparing players for higher levels of competition while prioritizing player safety and development.
